The website Out There Orlando recently took a look at some of Colorado’s great scenery in a post appropriately titled “Top 12 Scenic Drives for Summer in Colorado”. Two spots near Ouray were mentioned, the first one being Red Mountain Pass along U.S. Highway 550 between Ouray and Durango. Also going by the name of “Million Dollar Highway”, the trip is perfect for the summer as it’s free of the dangerous snow that often accumulates during the winter.
The other drive recommended by Out There Orlando is San Juan Skyway Scenic Byway which consists of more than 200 miles of gorgeous vistas of southwestern Colorado. There are lots of spots for some al fresco recreation like biking, fishing, and more.
