Mark Your Calendars – January is Going to be a Blast in Ouray!

January 2022 will be here before you know it! Start reserving your stay at our Ouray Colorado lodging location to fill your new year with tons of exciting winter-fun activities.

The Ouray Ice Fest will take place on January 20 through the 23 and is hosted by Ouray Ice Park. Ouray Ice Park creates and operates Ouray’s climbing ice park that provides locals and visitors alike with a one-of-a-kind climbing experience. Starting in November, Ice Farmers spray the wales of the Uncompahgre Gorge to create beautiful walls of ice.

The one-mile area of the park has over 100 man-made ice and mixed climbs, 11 different climbing areas, and three miles filled with vertical terrain. If you’re the adventurous type, this one is for you! It is also a free and public park operated – in partnership with the City of Ouray along with multiple private and public landowners – by Ouray Ice Park Inc. (OIPI).

On January 7 through 9, enjoy the All in Ice Festival at Ouray Ice Park. The mission of the annual festival is to elevate and highlight marginalized communities, including Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA2S+ communities, and people with disabilities. Clinics and access gear are available for climbers to develop their skills, along with creatives, speakers, and host socials to build community while inspiring climbers.

While not held until February 2022 near Ouray Colorado lodging, the UIAA World Ice Cup is set to be held in Ouray! Keep an eye out for more information on their website and through the Twin Peaks Lodging and Hot Springs blog.
