Take a Soak in a Piece of History

springs-1The Ouray Hot Springs Pool may be one of the most well-known attractions, but it’s not the only place to take a warm soak. Their something of a well-kept secret yet Wiesbaden Hot Springs (part of Historic Wiesbaden) has a rich history and remains a must visit. The Ute tribe believed the springs had restorative and curative qualities and frequently soaked in these historic springs. Today, Wiesbaden is open to everyone but there are strict rules that you should be aware of that may prevent you from taking a dip.

While Historic Wiesbaden’s springs should be on your list, don’t forget there is also a fascinating underground vapor cave. In the cave, you’ll come across three springs in addition to a cool spring that leak directly into the cave, in contrast to the typical springs that come from below the ground. The cave retains an aura of mystique and provides a memorable experience. However, if you can’t take the heat, the 108-degree temperatures may deter you as you’ll be sweating and potentially looking for some cool air in no time. If the heat doesn’t bother you, you may come out of Wiesbaden feeling like your entire body has been rejuvenated.
