You’ve probably seen one of your friends or family members show off a work of art they painted themselves after participating in one of those popular guided painting classes. You may have wanted to try this yourself at some point to unleash your inner artist. Next Tuesday, you’ll be able to do just that if you don’t mind heading over to the Sherbino Theater in Ridgway.
ARTbar: Umbrellas and April Showers is part of the “Sip and Paint” style classes held every third Tuesday of the month and overseen by artist Anne Hockenberry. Hockenberry is a self-taught artist who has turned watercolors into her specialty. She has over a decade of experience as an art teacher and in 2016 she opened her Etsy shop.
Even if you’ve never picked up a brush in your life, you won’t need any experience to follow along with Hockenberry during the ARTbar class and create something artistic. For just $35 you will receive the instruction plus the materials, a drink to sip on while you get creative, and you’ll even be able to bring your home masterpiece to hang and admire. The class starts at 6 pm and continues until 8 pm.
