Dogs are often considered part of the family. Unfortunately, not all hotels welcome your four-legged family members, making planning a trip to Ouray difficult.

At Twin Peaks Lodge, we are pleased to offer several pet-friendly rooms for travelers with dogs. Wellness is in the Water at Twin Peaks Hot Springs

Twin Peaks Lodge was built around our pristine hot springs. The water that fills these natural pools comes out of the ground at a balmy 156 degrees Fahrenheit before feeding into multiple indoor and outdoor reservoirs on our hotel grounds, with temperatures ranging from 101 to 106 degrees.

Hotel Guest Access

Our hot springs will help you relax your entire body, unplug from the outside world, and recharge your energy so you’re ready to tackle whatever adventures await in Ouray. All of our hotel guests can begin using the hot springs upon check-in at 4:00 pm on their arrival day and continue using it daily from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm throughout the duration of their stay. For those who would like to take advantage of the hot springs earlier than 4:00 pm on your day of arrival, you can purchase a hot springs day pass from the front desk.

Hot Springs Day Passes

Although the Twin Peaks Lodge Hot Springs are primarily used by Twin Peaks hotel guests, we offer day passes for anyone who would like to experience the benefits of these incredible pools. Off Road in the San Juan Mountains

Our sister business, Ouray Mountain Adventures, has Jeeps, UTVs, and e-bikes available to rent. You can use these off-roading vehicles to explore Ouray and the surrounding wilderness all day long. Our staff members at the front desk can also help you with directions and other useful information if you prefer to take your own 4×4 vehicle out on the trails.

Sage Spa at the Twin Peaks Lodge is a relaxing day spa attached to the hotel. Our team of licensed massage therapists offer a variety of 60 and 90-minute massage options for individuals and couples. When you get hungry, you don’t have to go very far to taste some of the best food in Ouray because Mineshaft Bar, Restaurant, and Pizzeria is connected directly to the hotel. Hotel Policies

What is the check-in and check-out time at the hotel?

Check in time is 4:00 pm. Our Check-In Kiosks opens at 1:00 pm, and you can use it to check in early if your room is available.

Check out time is at or before 11:00 am daily.

Does the hotel have a pet policy? Are pets allowed in the rooms?

Pets are allowed in designated pet-friendly rooms. We ask that you do not leave your pets unattended in your hotel room without a crate or pet pen. There is also a $30 per day pet fee.

What is the hotel's cancellation policy?

Our hotel cancellation policy varies based on the type of booking. Below are the cancellation requirements based on the type of reservation:

  • Individual Reservations: You may cancel up to 24 hours prior to check-in. However, your reservation can not be canceled if you have scheduled your stay within dates of an observed event. You can find these dates listed in the “Event Booking” section of the website.
  • Group Blocked Reservations: (i.e., weddings, bus tours, family reunions) These reservations must be canceled 30 days before the check-in date. Please note: All reservations with multiple rooms under the same name are considered group reservations.
  • Booked Rooms for an Event: Any reservations for an event (i.e., FJ Cruiser Summit, Imogene Run, Jeep Jamboree, Ice Festival, etc.) or during a holiday weekend (MLK Weekend, President’s Day Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th, Labor Day weekend, or New Year’s Eve), must be canceled at least 30 days before the event.
  • Hotel Package Specials: Any specials or exclusive packages (ex: Mother’s Day Package, Valentine’s Package, etc.) are subject to individual cancellation policies. Please see the package special for more details about cancellations and refunds.

Does the hotel offer early check-in or late check-out options? Is there an additional fee for that?

Check-in time is 4:00 pm. Our Kiosks open at 1:00 pm, and if your room is ready, you can check in early. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee early check-in.

There are limited late check-out options available each day. You must call the front desk at 8:00 am on the morning of departure to see if you can extend your check-out to noon. No check-out times beyond noon are offered.

Does the hotel have a policy for extra beds or cribs? How much is the charge?

We do not have roll-away beds. We do have packs-and-plays available for an additional $10 per day.

Can I smoke in my room or are there designated smoking areas within the hotel premises?

We are a smoke-free property. Smoking and vaping are allowed on the perimeter of the property only.

What is the policy for guests' visitors? Can they stay overnight?

Only the number of people listed on your room reservation can stay overnight in your room.

Does the hotel require a security deposit upon check-in? How is it refunded?

When checking in, an extra $100 is authorized over the total amount of the total stay. If this deposit is not used, when you check out, we release the deposit. The reduction in the amount will be reflected on your card per your card/bank’s policies.

What is the policy regarding lost and found items?

There is a lost and found.

Any items turned in are kept for 1 (one) week, if no one calls and claims them, they are then taken to Second Chance or disposed of. There is a $25 postage/handling fee for returning items as long as they fit in a priority mailbox. Larger items will be charged at the postage amount plus $10.

Are there any age restrictions for booking a room? What is the policy on minors staying at the hotel?

You must be at least 21 years of age to check-in.

Hot Springs Policies

What are the hours for your hot springs?

Hot Springs are open from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm daily.

Is there a minimum age requirement to use the hot springs?

An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18 years old at the hot springs. Please ask your physician for guidelines for young children using hot springs.

Can individuals not staying at Twin Peaks Lodge use the hot springs?

Yes, we have day passes available from 8 am to 7 pm. The last soaker is taken at 4 pm. Please see the day passes section of the website for pricing.

Do you provide towels and robes for people using the hot springs?

There are pool towels in every room, and we have robes for rent. There are pool towels available for day-pass soakers.

Are there any rules or etiquette I should know when visiting the hot springs?

We ask that all guests in the hot springs be respectful and courteous to others. Also, appropriate swimming attire is required in the hot springs and pool area.

Can I bring food and drinks to the hot springs area?

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. Alcoholic drinks are available at Mineshaft Restaurant, which opens at 4:00 pm. Glass is prohibited in the hot springs facility.

What is the temperature of the water in the hot springs?

Our hot springs range from 100° to 107°F.

Is it safe to put my head underwater in the hot springs?

Yes, you may put your head underwater in the hot springs.
