Colorado’s Amazing Hot Springs

Hot springs are aplenty in Colorado and they do provide a cozy, warm retreat from the state’s frigid temperatures. With so many to choose from, first time visitors may have a tough time figuring out which ones to visit, but we have a few suggestions if you aren’t already planning on exploring the Colorado Hot Springs Loop.

Depending on which hot spring you decide to visit, excessive noise from fellow guests and tourists may be a factor, but that’s not the case at Grand Lake on the western side of Colorado. It is quiet and there are several different springs to choose from that vary in their levels of heat, just in case one happens to be a little too toasty for you.

If you’re trying to save money during your stay, the intriguingly named Conundrum Hot Spring is free of charge, free of crowds, and all natural. The caveat? You’ll have to ascend over 10,000 feet into the Aspen wilderness to reach it, so it’s not for the inexperienced and it may require the guidance of an expert. It’s frequently used by hikers for a relaxing meditation session.
