If you remember the original 1985 MacGyver series, the main character’s grandfather Harry called Ouray his home. Speaking of Ouray, its scenery was in full display during the “Target MacGyver” episode.
His place of birth was Kansas City, but famous baseball pitcher Howard Ellsworth “Smoky Joe” Wood spent his days in Ouray. Smoky Joe played for teams like the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians.
