Check out the Revamped Ute Indian Museum

For those of you that enjoy visiting museums and learning a bit about history, we have some great news! The Ute Indian Museum in Montrose recently re-opened its doors, unveiling an all-new experience designed to reflect traditional accuracy. In fact, the museum curators worked closely with Colorado’s various tribes to practically guarantee that the museum properly showcased the rich past, present, and exciting future of Colorado’s longest residents.

Everything from the exhibits to the architecture has been given a makeover at the Ute Indian Museum and the space has also been increased substantially from 4,650 to 8,500 square feet. Among the many highlights is an open patio space with glorious vistas of the San Juan Mountains, the Colorado White Pine timber structure guests will see upon walking into the museum, and of course all of the new exhibits.

The Ute Indian Museum is barely forty minutes away to the northwest of our location. It is open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and on Sundays from 11 PM to 4:30 PM. Adult admission costs just $6 or $5 for seniors while anyone under the age of eighteen can visit free.
