Netflix usage has seen a tremendous upswing as people stream more than ever. If you’re planning on a Colorado stay, the service has several movies and shows where Colorado makes an appearance in some form. Let’s explore a few.
Released in 2015, The Hateful Eight directed by Quentin Tarantino is a western thriller film set in Wyoming. However, despite the setting, the filming took place on a sprawling 800+ acre ranch located just outside of the town of Telluride, which isn’t very far from Ouray.
The streaming television comedy/drama series The Ranch starred Ashton Kutcher and his former That ‘70s Show costar as siblings running a cattle ranch in Colorado. If you pay close attention to the opening credits, you’ll spot images showcasing none other than beautiful Ouray, Colorado. However, despite being set in a fictional town in Colorado, the series was shot in a Burbank, California sound stage.
Besides these examples the famous western film True Grit, have you managed to spot Ouray or the neighboring areas on network television or your preferred streaming service? Feel free to share your findings in the comments!
