All Eyes Are on the Ouray Ice Festival

Along with the annual opening of the perennial favorite Ouray Ice Park, one of Ouray’s most anticipated events is the Ouray Ice Festival. Kicking off on January 23rd through the 26th, the event is all about ice climbing. Whether you’re someone who decided 2020 is the year you’re going to become an ice climber or a pro who’s been climbing the ice walls for years, the festival is open to everyone.

Besides the various exhibitions and vendors selling and talking all things ice climbing gear, one of the highlights of the Ouray Ice Festival is when numerous spectators line the Gorge to witness the best ice climbing battle it out for the top prize as they climb the manmade ice walls.

In addition to the exhibitions, clinics (of which there will be more than 100), and more, Ouray Ice Festival also includes nightly events such as dance parties, multimedia presentations, music, and more.

Much like the Ouray Ice Park itself, there is no cost to attend the Ouray Ice Festival. Only the nightly events and clinics require paying money to attend.
