With the start of the summer season on the horizon, you may be wondering how you’d like to spend the sultry season. Ouray is packed with things to do, but in case you need some reinforcement, you can check out The Gazette, which published an article last Sunday discussing “10 adventures for 2019 summer in Colorado”.
The list includes some common longtime favorites such as spending a long day at picturesque Rocky Mountain National Park. Then again, if you’d rather not deal with the summer crowds you can head over to the moose capital of Colorado, better known as State Forest State Park.
For those of you that will be heading anywhere near Ouray and you enjoy the thought of off-roading, then you’ll be pleased to see that the Alpine Loop is also mentioned. The road—which is usually free of snow during the summer months—encompasses just over sixty miles and will take riders through places like Silverton, Lake City, and of course, Ouray. It’s also a great opportunity to check out the abandoned mines and the lush wildflowers.
