The San Juan Barrel Fest, taking place from 2:30 to 5:30 on October 1 at Hartwell Park in downtown Ridgway, is an excellent way to support the Sherbino while having fun.
At this event, barrel brewers and vintners from the Western Colorado region share a cask or barrel of something special. Each brewer or winemaker will create a unique brew or wine for sampling at the event, some with inventive ingredients and others in a more conventional style. The San Juan Barrel Festival will feature live performances by Donny Morales and Cousin Curtiss! Participation in the SJBF is restricted to those over the age of 21 with a valid photo ID, but all ages are welcome to attend and enjoy the music and activities!
The San Juan Barrel Fest takes place after the Ridgway 1K Rally Thru the Alley. The Ridgway 1k is a very enjoyable, costumed race for people of all ages, with numerous rest stops along the six-block downhill course. Each stop honors the need to refuel with an abundance of carbohydrates. The race concludes with live music and activities in Hartwell Park.
This event is a fundraiser for Weehawken Creative Arts and the Sherbino, two non-profit arts organizations.
